The property is ideally located, within easy walking distance to the shops, the Mitchell River or the local pool. Bairnsdale itself is a large regional shopping centre with extensive strip shopping which includes major stores, plus plenty of boutiques, antiques, and bookshops. Enjoy a plethora of eating places, from formal dining to alfresco, many using local produce and fish.

Places of interest
A short drive takes you to Metung, Paynesville, Lakes Entrance or Sale. Visit wineries, art galleries, antiques galore, or craft markets. The more energetic can walk, cycle or horse ride the Rail Trail, sail the Gippsland Lakes, or explore the Ninety Mile Beach. As the junction of the Princes Highway and the Great Alpine Road, Bairnsdale is the perfect base to visit Buchan Caves, Omeo, Dinner Plains and Mount Hotham. From lakes, sea, mountains, to forest, you are surrounded by natural beauty that is quite breathtaking.

Historic Church
During the depression, Italian painter Franscesco Floriani was commissioned to paint a ceiling fresco at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Bairnsdale. His mural of the Stations of the Cross has hundreds of figures in heaven and hell - something not to be missed.
